Rihanna wants to buy a UK football
club.
The 26-year-old singer is said to be
"really serious" about setting up a
sports academy in her native
Barbados and then becoming a
chairwoman or owner for a team
in England, so much so she has
been getting some advice from her
friend, Chelsea player Didier
Drogba.
A source close to the Bajan beauty
said: "At first we thought
Rihanna's desire to be involved
with football on a business level
would soon blow over.
"We figured she was still on a high
from the World Cup. But now it's
becoming clear she really is
serious.
BIG FAN
"She's talking about setting up a
football academy in her native
Barbados. Then her big dream is
to be involved with a UK club."
While Rihanna has previously
confessed to being a Liverpool fan,
it is also thought the 'S&M'
hitmaker could consider taking
over a club in Los Angeles.
The source added to the Daily Star
newspaper: "Britain is like a
second home to her, although she's
also hinted she may do something
with an LA team."
Rihanna was a big fan of the
recent World Cup in Brazil over
the summer and posted several
pictures on Instagram page of
herself supporting the home nation
until they were ruthlessly dumped
out of the competition 7-1 by
Germany.
The star then went on to support
Germany in the final, which they
won by overcoming Argentina with
an extra-time winner from Mario
Gotze.
Rihanna is not the only big name
star who has been interested in
taking over a UK team as rapper
Snoop Dogg previously admitted he
was thinking about investing in
Scottish champions Glasgow Celtic
and P. Diddy was said to be in
talks to buy Crystal Palace in 2010
because he likes their name.
What's more, Hollywood legend
Tom Hanks is a big fan of English
heavyweights Aston Villa, also
because he is a fan of their
moniker, and Sylvester Stallone
has been to watch Everton on
several occasions.
