James Orengo during the
launch of Ugenya Teachers
Training College in Siaya

In Summary
• Senator James Orengo
said the management of

Kenyans at the helm.
• Mr Kajwang said the
elections in the country

Politicians from the opposition
Cord coalition Friday said they
want foreigners to head the
electoral commission,
demanding that current
officials be disbanded.
The leaders, who spoke during
the ground breaking of Ugenya
teachers training college in
Siaya County, said the county
cannot run another election
when the team led by IEBC
chairman Issack Hassan is still
in office.
Senator James Orengo said the
management of previous
elections has been difficult

Mr Orengo said the

country today,” he said.
The Senator said change that

singing the same of song of
change,” he said.

Ruaraka MP Tom Kajwang
said the IEBC issues cannot be
glossed over anymore as they
were becoming complacent to
Kenyan’s calls.
He said wananchi had lost
confidence in the commission

“We want a total overhaul of
the IEBC to make it lean; the
commission must also be
allowed to outsource officers
like we witnessed in
Afghanistan and Myanmar,”
said Mr Kajwang’
