have side effects such as extreme
fatigue and nausea.
Pregnancy Prevention : For the
ladies, the Plan B morning-after pill
is the most effective way to prevent
pregnancy after a CD break
accident. It is most effective when
taken right away but can be taken
up to 72 hours after. It is
recommended that you buy Plan B
before anything happens just so
that you have it on hand instead of
having to make time to go to a
pharmacy after an accident
happens. The side effects of Plan B
include abdominal pain, nausea,
fatigue, menstrual changes, and
headaches.
To prevent accidents from
happening in the first place make
sure that the CDs that you are using
are placed properly, and are not
expired or old. Preventing CD
breaks in the first place is your
first line of defense. Also don’t be
too rough during s*x.

WHAT IS TRUST?

Trust is both and emotional and
logical act. Emotionally, it is where
you expose your vulnerabilities to
people, but believing they will not
take advantage of your openness.
Logically, it is where you have
assessed the probabilities of gain
and loss, calculating expected utility
based on hard performance data,
and concluded that the person in
question will behave in a
predictable manner. In practice,
trust is a bit of both. I trust you
because I have experienced your
trustworthiness and because I have
faith in human nature.
We feel trust. Emotions associated
with trust include companionship,
friendship, love, agreement,
relaxation, comfort.
There are a number of different ways
we can define trust. Here are the
dimensions of trust and consequent
definitions.

Predictability
It is a normal part of the human
condition to be constantly
forecasting ahead. We build internal
models of the world based both on
our experiences and what others tell
us, and then use these to guess
what will happen next. This allows
us to spot and prepare for threats
and also make plans to achieve our
longer-term goals.
The greatest unpredictability is at
50%; a reliable enemy can be
preferable to an unpredictable
friend, as at least we know where we
are with them.
Definition 1 : Trust means being able
to predict what other people will do
and what situations will occur. If we
can surround ourselves with people
we trust, then we can create a safe
present and an even better future.
Value exchange
Most of what we do with other
people is based around exchange,
which is the basis for all businesses
as well as simple relationships. At
its simplest, it is exchange of goods.
I will swap you two sheep for one
cow. It is easy to calculate the value
in such material bargaining. Things
get more complex when less tangible
forces come into play. A parent
exchanges attention for love. A
company exchanges not only pay but
good working conditions for the
intellectual and manual efforts of its
workforce.
Value exchange works because we
each value things differently. If I
have a whole flock of sheep but no
milk, then I can do business with a
person who has a herd of cows but
no clothes. This principle of
reciprocity is what binds societies

Trust in value exchange occurs when
we do not know fully whether what
we are receiving is what we expect.
When we buy a car, don’t want to be
sold a ringer which the seller knows
is faulty. When I get advice in
business, I want it to be based on
facts, not wild opinions.

Definition 2 : Trust means making an
exchange with someone when you do
not have full knowledge about them,
their intent and the things they are
offering to you.

Delayed reciprocity
Exchange is not just about an
immediate swapping of cows and
sheep or hugs and kisses. What
makes companies and societies really
work is that something is given now,
but the return is paid back some
time in the future. The advantage of
this is that we can create a more
flexible environment, where you can
get what you need when you need
it, rather than having to save up for
it.
Trust now becomes particularly
important, because otherwise we are
giving something for nothing. The
delay we have placed in the
reciprocal arrangement adds a high
level of uncertainty which we need
to mitigate through trust.
What is often called the ‘golden
rule’ is a simple formula for creating
trust. ‘Do unto others as you would
have them do unto you.’ It sets up
the dynamic for my giving you
something now with the hope of
getting back some unspecified thing
in the indeterminate future.

Definition 3 : Trust means giving
something now with an expectation
that it will be repaid, possibly in
some unspecified way at some
unspecified time in the future.
Exposed vulnerabilities
When we trust other people, we may
not only be giving them something
in hope of getting something else
back in the future, we may also be
exposing ourselves in a way that
they can take advantage of our
vulnerabilities. If I buy a car from
you and I do not know a good price,
you can lie to me so you get a
better bargain. If I tell you in
confidence about the problems I am
having with work, you could use this
to further your own career at my
expense.
Although the threat of retribution or
projected feelings of guilt can
counteract your temptation to abuse
my exposed vulnerabilities, if you
succumb I still get hurt and may
still end up with the shorter stick.
For our transaction to complete
successfully, I must be able to trust
that such agonies will not come to
pass.

Definition 4 : Trust means enabling
other people to take advantage of
your vulnerabilities—but expecting
that they will not do this.
So what?
So learn about trust, how it works
and how to build it. If you do it
well, other people will give you the
earth. If you betray them, they will
hunt you to the ends of the earth.

73,000 HIV positive in Kisii: SHOCKING!!!

At least 73,000 residents of Kisii
County are living with HIV, with only
15 per cent accessing medical
attention, statistics have revealed.
The county is listed alongside
Nairobi, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Mombasa
and Siaya as the hardest hit by the
HIV/Aids pandemic.
Kisii County Medical Director Dr
Geoffrey Otomu said advocacy for
HIV testing for pregnant women and
their partners, attendance of
required ante-natal care services,
promoting health facility skilled
birth delivery and exclusive
breastfeeding for the first six months
should be encouraged.
“Some of the children have
undergone multiple losses as a
result of the loss of parents and
siblings in close succession, thereby
hampering their growth and
development and enjoyment of their
childhood and even as they
approach the turbulent years of
teenage hood,” he said.
Speaking recently during the
National Aids Control Council (NACC)
and Kisii County consultative
meeting, County First Lady Elizabeth
Ongwae said her office had formed a
non-governmental organisation
dubbed Soma Support Project.
This will partner with Timiza Trust
Initiative, a community-based
organisation that is implementing
Wezesha, a USAid-funded project
that targets orphaned and
vulnerable children (OVCs) in Kisii.
According to Ms Ongwae, the group
has identified 252 primary schools
and 50 secondary schools where they
are offering counselling to OVCs and
children living with HIV/Aids.
The National Demographic and
Health Survey 2011 indicated that
Kisii has 5,480 new HIV infections
annually.

for having sex with an mattress -
and it isn't the first time.
Edwin Tobergta, 35, has a history of
sexual encounters with a plastic air
mattress.
Last year he was jailed for having sex

his house in view of children.
He admitted outraging public
decency and was sentenced to 11
months in prison.
But Tobergta, who wore a t-shirt
with the slogan "I'm out of my

having simulated sex with a lilo on a
public road in Hamilton, Ohio.
He has been charged with public
indecency and contempt of court.
Tobergta has a long list of prior

When jailed last year he said: "I do

Women prefer men with a wider
manhood for a casual fling the
research from UCLA in Los Angeles
found, while the preferred length

because girls are more likely to
prefer something thinner when
they're choosing a long-term
partner.
The results were determined by 41
women who were asked to examine
various penis models and choose
their favourite.
For the experiment, 33 different
sized phalluses were made on a 3D
printer and the women were asked
to choose which one took their fancy.
They ranged in length and girth with
the smallest one measuring just four
inches with a circumference of two
and half inches.
On the other end of the scale was
an eight and half inch figure, which
was seven inches in circumference.
When it came to one night fumbles,
the models with the biggest girths
were chosen.
Length pretty much stayed the same,
with the women preferring a six and
half inch penis on average for one
night stands and relationships.
Researchers said: "They preferred
larger-girth (but not longer-length)
models for one-time partners than
for longer-term partners.
"Women's sexual selection may help
explain why human penises are
unusually thick compared to other
primates."
The findings were revealed at a
meeting of the Association for
Psychological Science.
A second study also found that
women tended to overestimate the
size of the organs in front of them.

Moi university students caught doing it in the bush

Two Moi University students had a
long day after being caught doing it
in a village bush.
Angry villagers wondered why the
lovebirds found it convenient to do
it in their shambas
The drama that followed was a good
warning to Moi University students
who habitually disappear into
surrounding villages for illicit sexual
episodes.
The villagers surrounded the
lovebirds and vowed to teach them
some manners. One of the villagers,
Emmanuel Kipleting, warned that
students who did not see them as
parents would have a rough time
should they be caught sampling
nature in the green.
“I want to warn those students with
this habit, that a time will come
when we will discipline them
thoroughly and even escort them to
the administration for further
discipline,” he warned.

Dressing down

The half-dressed students looked on
in shame and carrying their clothes
as angry villagers gave them a
dressing down for their ‘shameful’
act. The villagers who took turns to
express their frustrations, turned
emotional to a point of shedding
tears.

Pastor Peter Kyengo in court for defiling child.

Peter Kyengo, the Njiru pastor who
allegedly defiled and impregnated
his 15-year-old daughter, has been
arrested.
His story featured in the last edition
of The Nairobian . We revealed how
furious Nairobians tried to set him
ablaze for allegedly forcing his
daughter to procure an abortion.
The 60-year-old senior pastor of
Jesus Light of Your Life Church in
Njiru was, according to police,
arrested at a popular prayer
mountain in Katoloni, Machakos and
charged in court with incest.
A police statement reveals that
Kyengo started defiling his daughter
in 2012 when she was in class eight.
He allegedly approached her
claiming “the Holy Spirit” had
revealed to him that she was
sleeping with unknown men and
that he needed to confirm it.
He then allegedly defiled her that
first time and continued for two
years, threatening her with death if
she revealed their little secret to
anyone. The daughter would only
speak on March 25 after discovering
she was pregnant.
The fully-packed court heard that
the preacher advised his daughter to
get abortion tablets from a friend.
Luckily, the friend she approached
leaked the information to the public
and went for the pastor’s neck but
he went into hiding for four months,
until May 30.
Several tests by Sexual Violence
Recovery Centre discovered the girl
was three months pregnant. The
victim who was present in court
briefly said: “It is true my father
defiled me. The first time I felt a lot
of pain but he told me God had
shown him that I was sleeping with
men. My 12-year-old sister said he
told her the same thing.”
Appearing before Makadara Chief
Magistrate Emily Ominde, Kyengo, a
father of four, asked the court to be
lenient.

Sexting Nairobi teens alarm parents

Parents of Nairobi teenagers are
worried that their children have
been swept away into ‘sexting world’,
The Nairobian has been told.
Sexting is the latest trend where
mobile users spend time exchanging
steamy text messages, others
describing how they are bedroom
‘beasts’. This even extends to
describing body parts like the
mammary glands and at times the
size of one’s manhood.
Mary Obara, Director of Public
Communication told The Nairobian,
the matter came up recently at a
meeting organised by the Ministry of
Information and Communications
Technology. Some parents also
attended the meeting.
“Some parents said they frequently
stumble upon nude pictures and
sexual messages in their children’s
phones, but had no idea how to go
about it,” said Obara.
She said that ‘sexting’ among city
teenagers rose to an alarming 60 per
cent during the four-week April
holiday.
Content exchanged included
obscene personal pictures, frequent
use of four latter missile F**k and
adult content via smartphones
compared to 2013.
