Arsenal profit clause threatens to DERAIL Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas move

Tuesday, 10 June 2014

CHELSEA'S move for Barcelona
midfielder Cesc Fabregas is being
held up because Roman
Abramovich doesn't want to see
any of the fee go to Premier League
rivals Arsenal.
Reports in Spain suggest that the
deal is nearing completion but
that there is some haggling to be
done over the final fee due to
money that would be due to
Arsenal if Barcelona sell for a
profit.
The Gunners are thought to have
inserted a clause as part of
Fabregas' move to Barcelona that
they would get half of any profit
the Spanish club made on the
midfielder.
That would mean that Arsenal
would be due 50 per cent of any
fee above €33m (£26m).
Barcelona are holding out for a fee
closer to €35m (£28m) for the
player and that would see Arsenal
pocket £1m from the transfer.
