Jicho pevu on Mpeketoni saga

Thursday, 19 June 2014 0 comments

Amid Kenya’s trying times,
investigative journalist Mohamed
Ali wrote the president a letter in
Swahili to ail his sentiments on
behalf of Kenyans. Much has been
said and done about the insecurity
issue in the country, take time to
go through the letter below:
Rais,
Habari ya siku nyingi?
Jina langu ni Mohammed Ali,
mwandishi wa habari ya
runinga ya KTN. Mara ya
mwisho kuonana naye ilikua
wakati wa kampeni za
uchaguzi mkuu uliopita huko
Mombasa katika shule ya
msingi ya Khadija. Ulikua
mchangamfu kando na ahadi
chungunzima kwa Wakenya.
Ahadi za tarakilishi za bure
kwa wanafunzi wa darasa la
kwanza, kutoa nafasi za kazi
milioni moja kila mwaka kwa
vijana, kuekeza katika
usalama wa kitaifa miongoni
mwa ahadi zingine. Lakini,
kwa hivi sasa bwana rais
nahofia ahadi hizo zimekua
tasa.
Barua yangu inaanza na
maswala ya usalama ambayo
nimeyapa kipau mbele.
Kwanza kabisa nauliza, “Uko
wapi? Hatukuoni bwana
Rais.”
Wakenya wanashabuliwa kila
mara na kuuliwa kinyama.
Walioponea wamebagi na
vilema vya maisha.
Shambulizi la Westgate na
ahadi ya serikali yako
zilionekana kama hekaya za
Abunuasi. Uliowapa
majukumu ya kutulinda wako
wapi? Kuanzia Mkurugenzi wa
NIS, Michael Gichangi,
Inspekta Jenerali wa Polisi,
David Kimaiyo, Mkurugenzi wa
CID, Ndegwa Muhoro,
Kamanda wa GSU, Kitili
Mboya, Waziri wa Usalama wa
Ndani, Joseph Ole Lenku na
Mkuu wa Majeshi, Julius
Waweru Karangi.
Ukweli wa mambo ni kwamba
Wakenya wanahisi kuwa nyote
mmelala.
Usalama umegeuzwa na kuwa
mchezo wa tufe. Tumejisahau
kiasi cha hata kuonyesha siri
zetu za ndani kwa maadui
zetu. Hatujui tunapigana na
nani.
Katika kazi yangu ya uandishi
wa habari, nimezungumza na
wadadisi wa maswala ya
usalama na bwana Rais wengi
wao wanahisi twapigana
wenyewe kwa wenyewe. Na
iwapo si wenyewe kwa
wenyewe basi twafukuzana na
kivuli cha fimbo ambacho
hakisitiri jua.
Badala ya kuua magaidi
tunajiua wenyewe kwa
wenyewe. Kwa kweli hatuwezi
shinda vita hivi ikiwa
twaumizana wenyewe kwa
wenyewe badala ya
kuungana. Mara tunaambiwa
ni MRC, mara ni Mungiki,
mara magaidi, maragodoro na
sasa waziri wako Ole Lenku
ana mapya zaidi.
Waswahili wanasema “Bata
ata umlishe mawe bado
atahara”. Bwana Rais,
tumwamini nani?
Bwana Rais, majuzi uliingia
na taswira mpya kabisa katika
uwanja wa Nyayo; magari ya
kujikinga na risasi na
usalama zaidi. Hii, si kawaida
tangu uongozi wa Hayati
Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel
Toroitich arap Moi na Mwai
Kibaki. Iwapo wewe unahofia,
je sisi walalahoi tutahisi vipi?
Mauaji ya Mpeketoni ni sawia
nay ale ya Tana River. Damu
ya wana Mpeketoni inalilia
haki. Kina mama wamechwa
bila watoto na waume huku
watoto wakisalia mayatima
kwa kosa la serikali
walilolichagua ki katiba,
serikali iliyowaahidi
kuwalinda pamoja na mali
zao. Mauaji ya kiholela
yanazidi kugonga vichwa vya
habari, baadhi ya walinda
usalama wameamua wao ndio
majaji na mawakili kwa
Wakenya wanyonge wasio na
mtetezi.
Bwana Rais, wakenya wanalia;
kuanzia Easatleigh, Baragoi
hadi Mandera.
Nina machungu na mengi ya
kukueleza lakini muda
hauniruhusu. Kumbuka Kenya
ni jina, nchi ni sisi.
Ni hayo tu kwa sasa.
Shukran.

Ugandan TV station banned from covering presidential by Museveni

Kampala, Uganda: Uganda's
government on Wednesday banned
one of the country's main television
stations from covering presidential
events after it aired images which it
said showed President Yoweri
Museveni having a snooze in
parliament.
"The president has habits, he
meditates and they know it, and still
they go out and say he was
sleeping," government media centre
manager Dennis Katungi told AFP.
Government spokesman Ofwono
Opondo confirmed that NTV Uganda,
part of the Nation Media Group and
east and central Africa's largest
independent media house, would be
punished.
"We have suspended their coverage
of the president as we reconsider
our relationship with them," he said,
accusing NTV of a "lack of
professionalism and biased
coverage".
"The suspension should not be
permanent, it's temporary, to make
them think," Katungi added.
Museveni, aged 69, is one of Africa's
longest-serving leaders, and has led
the impoverished east African nation
since 1986.

NTV Uganda said they had not been
informed of the suspension.
Last year the government shut the
country's two main independent
newspapers for 10 days after they
reported arguments among army
generals over whether the
president's son should succeed him.

KBC obtains order stopping World Cup broadcast by other channels -shinekenya reveals

Nairobi, Kenya: KBC has received
orders stopping other channels from
broadcasting World Cup that is
taking place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Judge Eric Ogola gave the orders to
stop Pan-Africa Network group, Star
Times and Mwananchi Group from
broadcasting World Cup matches in
the country.
KBC told the court that they have a
contract with FIFA to be the sole
broadcaster of tournament in the
country but any other broadcaster
doing so was infringing their rights.
Through Ogeto and Company
advocates, KBC said they will lose
billions of money in terms of
commercial if other broadcasters
were not stopped.
The court decision means that TV
viewers will only be able to watch
free to air channels (analogue)
platform from KBC pending an
intepartes hearing on June 16.

Radio Africa Offers to Buy Ghafla for Ksh 5 Million after Buying into TRINC for Ksh 3 Million

Monday, 9 June 2014 0 comments

Radio Africa is reported to be in
serious talks to buy Ghafla. Already,
the Group CEO Patrick Quarcoo has
offered Ksh 5 million for 90% stake
in Ghafla. This offer was like an
insult to the Ghafla founder and his
88mph investors according to people
close to Ghafla.
Ghafla founders and investors
demanded nothing less than Ksh
100 million. This came immediately
after RAL bought 60% stake in
digital media agency TRINC Media
for a paltry Ksh 3 million.
According to documents in our
possession including quartely
reports, PQ bought 20% for himself
and had RAL pump in money to buy
40% of TRINC Media. Sebastian
Wafula maintains the other 40%,
some in trust for an unnamed
investor.
Radio Africa is very desperate to
make an entry dominate the web
and digital TV as they plan to still
be the group which is youth friendly.
They have ditched plans to start
their own Ghafla clone
www.shambamba.com but this plan
might not be off the table as the
group is also contemplating
poaching all Ghafla bloggers and
leaving Samuel Majani to start from
scratch. Many bloggers at Ghafla are
already getting more favours and
leads from Radio Africa that they are
really suspicious that the PQ
employees are up to something.
Caroline Mutoko has tried to show
Ghafla owners and writers favours
through show invitation and lunch
meetings. Others like Shaffie and
Maina Kageni are also giving Ghafla
all kinds of favours.

Karen Knaust Karimi… K24 Jobs and vacancies 2014

K24 has always been full of
surprises. The station which was
accused of poaching towering
newscasts from other leading
television stations in the country
has unveiled new prime time news
readers – Erick Njoka and Karen
Knaust Karimi.
The duet is set to bring tough
competition to other anchoring
pairs, the likes of NTV’s Larry
Madowo and Victoria Rubadiri, and
Citizen’s Hussein Mohammed and
Janet Mbugua.
Karen is arguably the most
beautiful lady on TV right now.
She’s drop dead gorgeous..I tell
you that for free. The curvaceous
lass has a Diploma in Business
Administration from Kenya
Methodist University as shown in
KeMU 2009 graduation list. She was
also scheduled to feature on KTN’s
much hyped TV show that socialite
Vera Sidika was supposed to host
before she bailed.
Karen Knaust Karimi will certainly
drive Julie Gichuru, Anne Kiguta,
Lillian Muli, Linda Ogutu and Janet
Mbugua out of business… unless
they remove their tint (just
kidding)

SHOCKING !!! Former VP Kalonzo Musyoka SLAPPED by a woman! ~ Shine Kenya

Thursday, 5 June 2014 0 comments

The former vice president Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has this afternoon recorded a statement at Central Police after being attacked by a woman.

At around 10 am this morning, Kalonzo Musyoka was caught in an incident that attracted a multitude of curious onlookers, along Haille Sellasie Avenue.
According to sources familiar with the morning incident, Kalonzo and Namwamba were taking quail eggs to Muthurwa market in a probox KAB 963J when Mr Musyoka who was driving the car hit the bonnet of a Mercidez Benz KBB 365L owned by a Kikuyu woman ,Mary Njeri. The owner of the car slowed down and was astonished to find Kalonzo wearing earphones and Namwamba reading a 2012 Love Magazine.
However, Kalonzo came out but refused to negotiate saying that he owns 700 merino sheep in Mwingi and can marry the woman. The infuriated woman landed heavy slaps on Musyoka’s deformed face.
Kalonzo was rescued by Ababu Namwamba though his dental formula was tampered with.
(Just For laughs)..
